[B]How to make forums on linux server?[/B]
 

I am in the IEEE club at my college. We had originally a microsoft server, but it has been crashing so much that our president feels that Linux would work better. The only problem is nobody really knows how to transfer the microsoft forum to linux or even how to make a linux based forum. If anyone knows please help quickly. I would really enjoy it, I am not that good at linux anyway. Thanks alot.

There is no difference between a "Microsoft" forum and a "Linux" forum.

Are you running MySQL on the Microsoft server? It not, you will have to convert your Microsoft Database to MySQL so it's usable.

What kind of forum are you using? A custom one? Invision Power Boards? phpBB2?

Pretty much all you need to do is transfer all your forum files to the linux server. Then set up the database. Not difficult.
