'libgcc_s.so.1 required for pthreads_cancel' error

Ok, running Debian 3.0r2 and 2.6.7.

I'm trying to get my TV tuner working, it's a LeadTek XP2000 Deluxe. The bttv driver loads fine on boot, scantv picks up all the channels it should pick up, but after that I can't get anywhere.

It's a box with no monitor or input devices, so I'm trying to use streamer to grab a file. But when I run streamer I get

Code:
libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work
libgcc_s.so.1 is in /lib and /usr/lib.

This message is output after a file is created, but the file is corrupt so I can't see if it's actually been receiving input anyway.

Any thoughts?
