Question Yum Issues Centos 4.4 x64

Hello,

I attempted to install yum on my vps as it does not come installed by default. I rant the following command.

Everything seemed to install just fine however when i attempt to run yum i get this message:

Quote:
yum
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/cElementTree.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.3.4 (#1, Mar 13 2006, 07:49:07)
[GCC 3.4.4 20050721 (Red Hat 3.4.4-2)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:
http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq
I have been beating my head against walls for hours now to no avail. Can anyone please shead some light on this one?

Is up2date installed by default? If so, I'd (personally) just stick with that.

If you really need yum for some reason, then read the yum faq like the error message says. If that doesn't help, search for the package that contains cElementTree.so here: http://www.rpmseek.com/index.html?hl=com

Then install said package from your repo.
