Yum Error: /repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404: Not Found

I have inherited numerous CentOS servers at my new job tha trange from version 5 to 7 and couldn't being to tell you when the last time they were patched.

I went to install auditd on a CentOS 5.9 box and foudn yum was broken. After removing the repo and reinstalling the default repos, I still get the same errors. I've run yum clean all then tried to install the package. No luck.

Any help would be appreciated. Below is the error.

# yum update check

? Why don't you follow the links
http://repo.us.bigstepcloud.com/centos/5.11/

http://mirror.cs.vt.edu/pub/CentOS/5.11/

http://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/5.11/

You can get the last released version of centos 5.11 here:
http://vault.centos.org/5.11/
I.e. you will have to use a new repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d/ , like
Code:
[CentOS 5.11]
name=CentOS-5.11-x86_64
baseurl=http://vault.centos.org/5.11/os/x86_64/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1

[CentOS 5.11-updates]
name=CentOS-5.11-updates-x86_64
baseurl=http://vault.centos.org/5.11/updates/x86_64/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1

As knudfl said, CentOS 5 is EoL, I know we deleted our mirror for CentOS 5 where I work and that is a listed uk mirror on centos.org. I'd advise upgrading to CentOS 6 or 7 as a priority since CentOS 5 won't even get security updates anymore.
