ypbind not running


hey ,linux funs .i got a problem that my ypbind service cannot start
anyway,when i typed such commands it shows nothing ,
[]# /etc/init.d/ypbind start
[]# /etc/init.d/ypbind status
ypbind is stopped
[]#
That is what it shows ,i neary couldn't find the problme is ,any one who
are expercencd at ypbind or nis do help me ?Thank you !

Did you configure ypbind?

/etc/yp.conf:

ypserver 1.2.3.4
broadcast
domain mydomain.local broadcast
