Xeroxing a MySQL server....how to?

Hey Gang!

So, I just moved from a 32-bit server to a 64-bit server (woohoo) but, (now comes the catch) I need a big database (users, lock-stock-n-barrel) to be transferred to the new platform. Both servers work, there's quite some data (users databases and so on) that needs to get moved over.

Any hints?

Personally I'd I'd use mysqldump.

That will give you a complete & consistent backup and doing it this way will automatically defrag the DB as well.
Given it produces a text file, you can also alter any settings if you need to before importing.

Thanks! The point is that I could generate an SQL per table, and import that at the other place...but it's a hassle, and that way, (your way) I'd have a backup as well...things are getting crittical just about now
