XEN on centos5

hi all,

currently i have a server which is centos5 but i wanted to run with XEN and host few guest OSes in this server.

i found the way of installation in xen for centos are different with opensuse. CentOS install the guestOS must thru http/ftp/nfs , whereas opensuse can use ISO to install.

i had mount the iso image to /var/ftp/pub/centos45/ and make it available in my local http and ftp. Then, i target the installation source my local http/ftp (both i had tried before), which also result failed

and i check the connection. i ping the IP that i assigned to guestOS, a public IP( it's a static IP provided by hosting ) which is unable to ping.

so, i believe the problem from the network.

i have input the correct IP, subnet, dns ,and gw during installation. Please see the pic for that.

after that i try to ping but unable to ping .

any idea how to assign the IP manually in centos' xen ??

I had all sorts of problems getting http install to work and had to revert to nfs

Assigning IP's is the same as normal CentOS - you should be able to simply use system-config-network from the command line

I'm not sure if I fully follow your question though
