Question Writing to SAMBA share ok for Linux, not for Windows

Hey guys,

I have an Ubuntu Server running a SAMBA share and a laptop dual booting Windows Vista and Linux Mint 11.

Right now the Mint OS can see the share and write to it but the Vista OS cannot(as a side note my GFs XP laptop can't write to the share either)

I have tried many different settings and have went full out insecure setting it to the following:

Code:
Comment = Server File Share
path = /srv/samba/share
writeable = Yes
browseable = Yes
public = Yes
read only = No
create mask = 0777
I still can't write to the area on XP/Vista can someone profer any ideas why?

I ALWAYS forget the most obvious things, so check the actual permissions on /srv/samba/share and ensure they are also 777

Ahhh,

I should have said I had checked this also and it has made no difference and I would guess Mint would not be able to write if the permissions did not match.

This is the most confusing thing for me, Mint can write to it Windows cannot.
