Would you consider FreeBSD 7.0 a good choice for a sever?

I'm setting up a DNS server for a college and they asked me to put FreeBSD 7.0 on it. One of my friends said i should run OpenBSD on it. I've heard many good things about the latest release of FreeBSD. What do you think would be the finest of those distros to use for my server.

Either one would be a good choice, I think. But if they asked for FreeBSD, then I'd give them FreeBSD. The fact that they asked for it specifically indicates to me that they know the difference and they have a preference.

Absolutely it's a good choice; though if this is intended to be part of anyone's critical infrastructure I'd personally go with 6.3 (prod legacy) for now.

well see thats what they asked to to use, and ive never really messed with any of the bsd distros, so im trying to get the best help i can, ive heard many good things but never really had time to mess with it until now. and right now my main problem is starting a correct GUI besides X, so that i can actually get somewhere with it. thanks for the opinions.
