WIndows network group
Hi
Is there anyone out there who can advice me on how I may create a Windows Network Group on an installed version of Win98SE which I cannot access except through Linux?
I've got Win98SE and Mepis 6.0 installed and I never configured a network on Win98 as I used to dual boot on the very rare occasions I needed Windows. Recently one of my hard drives was playing up so I replaced it and also took the opportunity to upgrade the memory to 1.5GB. Of course the Win98 cannot cope with this and will not boot. I've tried the recommended memory solutions but they haven't worked.
Trying to think of a solution I installed a Vmware Server and put Win98 on it and I would like to be able to access the applications on the installed Win98 or even transfer them over to the Virtual win98 installation. If I can do the latter, and they work, I may even be able to remove Win98 from the hard drive.
The virtual network has a workgroup, as does Mepis but the latter won't work at the moment as I need to configure Samba. I need to configure a network group on the real Win98 and let it "see" the virtual network group. At the moment I feel my only option is to reduce the memory to allow Win98 to boot, fix the network and reinstall the memory.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
