wifi not responding on debian

I finally managed to install my netgear WG311v# on debian. Now the card connected to my router and the connection looks fine.I have 192.168.1.10on eth0 and 192.168.1.11 on wlan0. I connect to my server through putty. If i use the wlan0 IP on putty it connects just fine, but if I first remove the ethernet cable and then try to cennect with putty using the wlan0 IP , it doesn't connect...what should I do???any suggestions???Connecting my wlan with the server and make it start with boot is the last step for my server to be ready...plz help...

Are you saying that you have two interfaces on your computer that are on the same subnet? TMK that will cause problems with routing. I'll admit to being a little beyond my expertise here, but I am wondering if what you wish to do is to bridge the two interfaces where they have the same IP address.

Since you have two interfaces on the same subnet, packets may be routed one way or the other. If one interface in fact leads to a dead-end, say eth0 is connected to another computer, and packets are routed to 'eth0' and trying to get to some address elsewhere on the net, the packet will simply be dropped because it can't be routed. The machine is not intelligent enough to decide to route data through wlan0.
