While installing informix-SE 7.0 it gives error as cannot execute binary file
I am installing Informix-SE 7.0 on Red Hat Linux ES as OS and HP Proliant ML370 server. While installing it, I have setup 'path' and also given execute permissions
After giving ./installse it is installing all dirs including demo,release, etc,msg but only bin and lib are not getting installed saying "Cannot execute binary file"
Do "file installse" and see if it is a binary or a shell excutable (ascii). I suspect it is the latter. If so it may be calling a binary that wasn't designed for the architecture you're on. Find what binary it is calling then do "file" on that binary to see if it reports it correctly as an ELF executable. If it says something like data or awk text it may be the binary wasn't designed for your hardware.
Have you verified the Informix package you're installing is valid for the RH you're installing in its support matrix?
