where do mail go if user not exist on mail server(sendmail)
Hi,
Hope you all will be fine. I want to ask suppose you have a mail server(sendmail). On your system you created a user and send email to him/her. Suppose you created user Kashif and send email to kashif@nethyderabad.com. This will either go to the /var/spool/mail/kashif or /var/spool/mail/root depending on the settings. Ok fine. Now i want to ask suppose i send email to the user that not exist on the server say Ahsan@nethyerabad.com so where did this mail go. Will it receive by sendmail or not. If yes then where sendmail will put it and if no then i want to ask that, is there any way that when i send email to any user name with domain @nethyderabad.com whether user exist or not it will go to the root directory of mail server(sendmail i.e, var/spool/mail). Please answer one more question is it possible that whenever sendmail receive an email form @nethyderabad.com it send this mail to my google account which is basit.mahnmood56@gmail.com. If yes then please tell me how. I also did a change in the file /etc/mail/virtusertable i.e, Quote:
Also when i send email with domain name nethyderabad.com the logs are empty . log doesn't show any message. Thank you. |
