Hi Everyone,
I have quite a task at hand and I need your best advice;
A colleague who offers domain hosting has acquired a new server to upgrade his system.Currently the old server is running on Freebsd(I think 4.x...),exim,courier-imap,vexim for mail/domain administration and squirrelmail as the webmail client.
The new server is to run on an up-to-date OS - FreeBSD 7.0,most preferably.The mail server and webmail client should also support robust features.Specifically the webmail client should have rich text editing capabilities.The other main aspect of vexim I would like to retain is its ease of domain and mail(users,quotas,etc) management.
I have planned a full Freebsd 7.0 installation on the new server then import into it the old vexim mysql database.
Here are my querries:
i. Are there other open domain/mail management applications that may give me added features?
ii.What other alternative webmail clients can give better features to the users,e.g rich text editing?
iii.If the responses to the above(i&ii)are yes,would it be possible to work with the existing vexim db or manipulate it to work with a new Mail Server,Administration Tool or even a Webmail client?
Please give me any best workable solution to this.Links to Howtos to anyone who has tried out something will highly be taken.
