What is best small server?

Hello All,

I am trying to set up a small linux server, but I want one with a small amount of memory/hard disk requirements.
I only need to run/have the following:
Apache
MySQL
PHP (5 preferred, 4 OK)
Perl
CVS and/or Subversion

I am fine w/just command line options as opposed to using GUI.

Any thoughts?

How small is small? Slackware can be a small installation footprint with the LAMP items you've listed.

Ideally less than 200MB

Sorry for the questions, but 200MB?

Is that 200MB RAM and 200MB hard disk limit? Or just RAM or just hard disk?

bsdunix, what is wrong? Can you not read my mind?;)

200MB hard disk. RAM would be 256MB.

From what I researched, it looks like Dam Small Linux with XAMPP will fit on 200MB hard disk. :)

I have not used either one so I don't know how well they will work. Just my opinion, but I would not use any of these in a production environment with only 200MB of hard disk space.

Thanks bsdunix!
I was not aware that DSL would allow you to run Apache.
I will definitely check it out!

Dude, it's Linux. Just because a distro might not come with something doesn't mean it can't be installed and run from it.. ;)
