Question What distro would be the closest match for Amazon Linux AMI?

Right now I'm using the ec2 servers to host a website, but I want to set up a redundant server on a local machine that is rsynced with the Amazon one. I was hoping to use the AMI that Amazon uses but because it's only for use on the ec2's this isn't an option. Instead, I'm looking for one that would be a similar build that would require little work to convert data between machines. Does anyone have a knowledge of the Amazon Linux and could point me to a decent choice? Thanks!

Most seem to be built out of Ubuntu, or at least, originally intended for that audience.
