Question Web Server Can't Load Mcrypt

I have a CentOS 5 server running Apache & PHP. When I load 'Phpmyadmin' on the server it worked fine however there is a message at the bottom of the screen that says:

Quote:
Cannot load mcrypt extension. Please check your PHP configuration.
I checked to make sure that the 'mcrypt' package is installed on the server:

Code:
[root@ideweb1 ~]# rpm -qa | grep -i mcrypt
php-mcrypt-5.1.6-15.el5.centos.1
libmcrypt-2.5.8-4.el5.centos
libmcrypt-devel-2.5.8-4.el5.centos
I checked /etc/php.ini file and don't see any trace of 'mcrypt' so I am clueless how to get this resolved...

Please help!

There should be a /etc/php.d/mcrypt.ini file where the extension is enabled
Anyway you must make sure that your php version matches the php-mcrypt version (5.1.6) and restart apache

I do have that file. When I cat it, I see:

Code:
; Enable mcrypt extension module
extension=mcrypt.so
So it appears to be enabled from what I can see...I don't get it.

I do see that my version of PHP is 5.2 and Mcrypt is 5.1.

You should either downgrade php to the official 5.1.6, or upgrade php-mcrypt (I guess you have to this for the rest of the php modules) according to this
