Vsftpd users canīt modify or delete some files

I have a vsftpd server and when some users upload a joomla installation folders for example then they canīt delete or modify some files and folders, just in some of them!

I have been watching and realize that the proprietary number changes on the files that canīt be edited from the ones that yes on the FTP Client software

The editable files has: proprietary 516

The files canīt edit has: proprietary 48

I dont know how to change that o to leave vsftpd configuration so that doesn't happen anymore

Thanks

Typically, when I see problems with files in any CMS like Joomla, it's because php is running as the apache user. So when something gets uploaded or created by the CMS, the ownership goes to apache and causes problems with your ftp users being able to work with those files.

Have you been able to review the user and group ownership to see if this is a possible cause?

Yes I guess is because of that.. I have Apache 2.0 Handler and not mod_cgi

How can I review user and group ownership??

thank you for helping!

You appear to already have the owners of the files as 516 is usually a user that was created for the purpose of FTPing and 48, if I remember correctly, is apache.

You'll want to log into your server over SSH as root and then chown the files to the appropriate user.

Property 48 set to 516 with sudo chown -R USERNAME /home/user/*

thanks!
