VSFTPD or is it vsftpd?

Hello All,

I would love to give you some history on who I am and why I named the title I did but I think it would be suffice to say I am coming from a Netowrk Admin role for the last 5 years into a Linux Admin role and I must say I am finding it fascinating to say the least.

How do I test that VSFTPD is working, the log files and that scf is not what I am connecting too?

I understand VSFTPD works on port 20 udp and tcp.

Right now everything seems to be configured correctly as per certain guids but when I attempt to connect it does not work.

Hi,

I believe the default port for FTP is 21(TCP), not 20.
Maybe give that a try.

Which distro you are using?

Vsftpd logs are stored in /var/log/vsftpd.log file.

Default port is 21. Vsftpd use 20 port also(in active mode)

How you connect and what error it display? If you are using firewall allow 21 and 20 port.
