For the configuration files: You have to read the changelogs of Postfix, starting from the version you want to upgrade from all the way up to the version you want to upgrade to, and search for changes in the configuration file syntax or changes in features not longer supported/added.

As I read your post, are you trying to do that on a production system? This is totally not recommended, even more than running an outdated OS on a server connected to the web (no support for almost 3 years now, all the security holes found in the last 3 years are still wide open on that system if you didn't manually fix every single one).
