Upgrade systemd without machine restart?

Hi,

I'm running a linux server with systemd as init, and hope to avoid machine restart as much as possible.

When other packages got upgrades, I can simply restart the service to put the upgrade in effect. But how can I upgrade systemd without a hardware restart? Is there any thing like kexec/ksplice for systemd?

systemd is able to restart itself, so a restart should not be necessary. The real question is if that feature is used in your (unnamed?) distribution, the best way to find out would be to ask the distro developers.
