Upgrade from RHEL4 to CentOS 5.1

Is there a way to upgrade from RHEL4 to CentOs5.1 directly ? Has anyone tried this ?
Could you please show me where I can see the steps to do this ? I do not want to reinstall since I have a lot of things on different corners of the machine which I would not be able to backup easily. So an upgrade would be ideal for me.

Its a little urgent and any help would be much appreciated.

You could try this:
Install the CentOS-Release rpm for CentOS 5 along with yum and also the dependencies from the CentOS 5 repo. After that you could do a "yum upgrade".

I have a cd of CentOs. I need to do it from the cd.
