upgarding kernel in gz package redhat


I'm new in Linux,I just downloaded a bz package of linux-2.6.10 to upgrade from my current Redhat AS linux kernel 2.6.9 ,any guidance how to upgrade it?I had extracted the whole bz package.

Save yourself a whole load of time and difficulty and just keep the standard RHAS kernel which is updated with security fixes by RH.

Why do you want to update to 2.6.10 anyway?
