Unison sync

Hi,

I installed unison and tried

unison -batch /unison/ ssh://server2//unison
it got sync

1.Suppose i create file1 in server1 and same can be replicated at server2 as well without doing any thing ? (without adding to crontab like hard links ) this kind of feature is available unison?

2.Suppose there is a same file in two servers say file name file2 and in server1 user1 starts modifying file2 at the same time in server2 user2 starts modifying file2 after changes what could be a result? i mean how files will save and sync if there is data change in same file name in my case file2

3. Is there any option to prevent if one user starts modifying others has to only has to read file.

The answers to all your questions are in the unison documentation. Did you read it?
http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/u...l.html#usingit

So:
  1. Either you have to run the program manually or use cron.
  2. This depends on how you have configured unison
  3. This depends on how you have configured unison
