ubuntu lts 8.04 connection

Hi,

I have a server that runs ubuntu lts 8.04, almost all is working well.

The problem I have is:
On MS machines I mapped the shared folder (that is on ubuntu) as a drive.
Every once in a while it seems that the connection is lost and I have to wake up the connection, why is that?
On other linux machines I do not have this problem.

A quick fix was to create a *.bat file that pings the server, but that is not what I want - I would like to keep the connection alive all the time.

Thanks
