Ubuntu 9.04 Ltsp won't work on newer hardware?

I'm not quite sure what i've done wrong here. I have a spare box which i've setup as an ubuntu ltsp server.

I have 4 testing clients that boot from the lan.
3 are old AMD 1.33ghz Semperons
1 is an Amd Athlon 4500+ (pcie era MB)

The older machines work brilliantly. Yet the new AMD box just goes to a command prompt type view. (connection refused). What i don't understand is that the other boxes work all the time yet the newer machine doesn't.

Any ideas would be appreciated :-)

Cheers
