Cool Ubuntu 5.10 GUI

Can a GUI be added to Linux Ubuntu Breezy Badger 5.10? I am a total newbie and need the specific steps to add the GUI. I understand the GUI is a security issue, but for what I am using the server for, it should be ok. Or...do I just need to learn BASH and call it a day?

Learning bash is the best approach.

The GUI is called gnome, and can probably be added with "apt-get install gnome" or you may prefer a different GUI, XFce, KDE, Enlightenment-E17... whatever.
