there is no "install.img" file??

Hi.
I am trying to setup a Centos 5,6 kickstart server. Everything is fine until it says "unable to retrieve install.img" file. It is correct. When I check /Centos/images/ directory, there is no "install.img" image. However, for centOS 6.3, there is one, so there isn't any problem for version 6.3.

I really need to setup this server. Do you have any suggestion? How can I find/create it?

Thanks.

is there a "Must Use" reason to be using dead and unsupported versions of Cent?

CentOS ONLY !!! supports the one current minor version
and that is now
CentOS 5.10
CentOS 6.5

5.6 and 6.3 are dead and NOT supported

as to the kickstart install

are you behind a router ?

and what "tutorial" are you trying to fallow

the OLD - very old 5 doc
http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/In...ickstart2.html

centos6 is using the Redhat docs
https://access.redhat.com/site/docum...2-options.html

This is an ongoing issue. For the first part of system, a few year ago, I installed Centos 5.6 to some server via USB-DVDROM. there was no problem. For now, I have to install again and the number of servers is not less And in the future, I will do it again, again.

Centos 5.6 should be same for all system. All the server, old and new, should be replacable.

In the link you send, there is nothing about "install.img". However when I started kickstart, this file is always asked.

Is there a way to cerate/build such an image from an OS directly?

well centos 5.6 is missing the last 2+ YEARS OF SECURITY UPDATES
it is NOT advisable to use a operating system that dose not have the last TWO YEARS of
patched software
patched kernel
and all the last 2 years of security updates

you would not run a Microsoft IIS install, that is missing TWO YEARS of security updates , so why do that on a Linux os
