telnet to cisco router

hellow dear experties,i need to telnet to my cisco router from an internal machine istalled linux sentos5.3.the machine can browse using the same router as gateway.but when a tried to telnet to route i get the following message (ssh:connect to host 192.168.14.1 port 22:Connection refused) please i beg help
any reply i will appreciate.

Sounds like the box/user-name you are useing does not have access permissions on the router.

You mention using telnet to login but the error message is for ssh (secure shell). What command did you run to login with?

ssh is not telnet..

telnet connects to port 23 not port 22..

telnet 192.168.14.1



and it's CentOS 5.3 not sentos
