Syslog Server Setup - Fetch info from Router
Hi
I have a Cisco 806 router which I set to send Syslog events to my server, sitting right behind the router. I have Debian Etch 3.1 distro-wise and I was wondering how to go about setting up Syslog to accept the logs, and to post them somewhere in /var/logs/ Thanks for any help, Ben |
I have a netgear router, which has the syslog event thing on it. I was just about to make a similar post. Any information would be useful to me too! At the moment I'm doing some googling, and if i get anything i will post back. ;)
Im currently reading this post http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=270113 and it seems to be giving me all the relevant information |
Hi
I also started going down a road, seems to be working, but I have not yet finished my Cisco configuration. The article is here: http://www.aboutdebian.com/syslog.htm Cheers, will definitely post back, Ben |
