sugarCRM sql backup import

I am setting up a server with mail, web and sugarCRM (customer relationship management) services.
I migrate this services from an already existing servers two a private company server.
I have an backup.sql file.
There is a web interface in the sugarcrm pack called phpmyadmin.
Through this I can manage the databases.

The provider who had the server till now, gives me a "backup.sql" file which was exported through this phpmyadmin. And also the sugarcrm directory.

There is an option in phpmyadmin called "import".With that I tried to import the "backup.sql" backup file into the mysql server.

I get an error message:
Code:
#1050 - table 'accounts' already exists
what can I do - delete the existing tables to create it with import??
How can I import backuped data into a new sugarcrm installation?

Please help.

Hello,

I don't know about sugarCRM but that error you get is MySQL related.

Like the message said, you are trying to import the structure for a table that already is available.

Some things you can do:
  • Export/backup only table inserts without table structure if you already have on the new database the needed tables.
  • Remove all tables of the new database and make the full import, seems your backup has also the table structures.
  • Export using either (or both) table structure features "Add IF NOT EXISTS" and/or "Add DROP TABLE". The first option will create the table from your backup only if table does not exist, the second option will drop the existing table and create a new one based on the backup dump.

Hope this helps!
