Status of system, which commands decribes it the best ?
Hello all,
I think this is right place for question I have. I have some unix/linux servers, with very important applications on it, billing, subscribers info and etc. I am going to make an script that will run every day ( I will put it in cron table ) that will check state of system. I put there df -h, ps -aux, free -m, vmstat, and some other commands.... I am asking you to suggest me which commands I can put there in script too that can help me to get information that are important for system. I mean according your experience, ... of course I googled, but some additional information from you will help. Your suggestions will be very useful for me Thank you in advance Sarajevo |
Install sysstat. It will provide all the data you'll need, and a history as well.
Absolutely essential. |
Running vmstat a few seconds can be usefull.
