SSH: Connection reset by peer

Hi all,

I have noticed that the following message is repeating through the secure log file for most of my servers:

Code:

fatal: Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer
I can SSH just fine (using root and other users) to all servers.

This is some info about one of the servers:

Quote:

OS: CentOS release 5.8 (Final)
Kernel: 2.6.18-308.4.1.el5
SSH: OpenSSH_4.3p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 01 Jul 2008
These are virtual servers.

Please let me know what other information to provide you with.

Cheers!

Hi there,

Can you tell where the connections in question are coming from (local/remote)? You might be able to find some additional information by looking for other messages relating to the same process id (the number in square brackets after "sshd" and before the message you quoted above).

Good luck!

Hello Clifford,

These connections are coming from the local network.

Thank you
