ssh - Configuration file does not specify default realm

Hi,

I have just discovered a strange SSH problem on my home server. When I try to ssh into the server I get the following error message:

Code:
davidcollins:~$ ssh -v viper

I have googled about and all solutions point to GSSAPIAuthentication, which I have tried but no luck.

My server is headless running debian unstable but it does have a keyboard plugged in (just in case!) I don't have a monitor so don't really have the option to plug it in and see what is going on. I have tried SSHing into it from OS X and from debian laptops, both over wireless and ethernet, with no luck (they laptops can ssh into each other). I am still able to mount the NFS directory so I know for the most part it is working.

This computer was working fine at the start of the week, this all happened the first boot after switching off with 'hibernate'. Does anyone have any ideas what caused this, or a fix, or alternatively a way to get into the computer to check the logs (it is on an internal network so anyway is fine).

Thanks

The fix is simple. Open up /etc/ssh/ssh_config and comment out this line:
Code:
# GSSAPIAuthentication yes
HTH

Hi, Sorry for the long delay in replying - I have been away.

Thank you for the link, that is the same one that I found. I tried it again to see if I was being slow, but GSSAPIAuthentication is already commented out in my ssh_config file.

Is there any other cause/solution to this?

Thanks
David
