Squirrelmail Login Issue

hola,
I need to ask something about Squirrelmail
I'm trying to login to my root account from Squirrelmail page:

the page is opened and when i put "root" as a username and root password, it redirects me to some page telling me :

ERROR
Error opening ../data/default_pref
Default preference file not found or not readable!
Please contact your system administrator and report this error.
Go to the login page

also, when i go to see the mail log i found that :

Really thanks for your help, i do it, but the errors are increased
