squid with network problem

hey Guys.
I am new with squid web cache server, I have RHEL5 server running at an ISP and I need to configure it as a proxy server.
there is one IP address for the server. which is 172.2.20.X/26 on eth0
I have created the configuration file and sure of my configuration, but no user here can use the proxy without the 2nd IP Address I gave the server on eth0:0.
all I need is making the users use the server with the private IP"172.20.20.X" without the 2nd one on eth0:0.

please help
Regards
