SpamAssassin not processesing e-mail w/ remote addresses in virtusertable

I have a vanilla RHEL 4 + SpamAssassin + Sendmail + procmail config. SpamAssassin processes all inbound e-mail for local users just fine with the following /etc/procmailrc file:

:0fw
* < 256000
| /usr/bin/spamc

The only problem I have is that any e-mail aliases resolved in the virtusertable for remote users are not getting processed by procmail and therefore not getting scanned by SpamAssassin.

For example, I have the following two entries in the virtusertable:

joe@domain.com joe <- this alias is addressed to a local user and gets processed by sendmail & spamassassin just fine.

mary@domain.com mary@yahoo.com <- this alias points an external address on another server and does NOT get processed by procmail & Spamassassin.

SO, my question is... How do I get ALL mail to be processed by SpamAssassin?

Thanks!

Email that gets forwarded doesn't reach the MDA which makes it the remote MTA's problem (just like it should be IMHO). You could check if you could 1) use an alias that forwards to an application before forwarding the message, or 2) use a ~/.forward file or 3) check if there's a milter for outbound or 4) if you can send it through a local SMTP proxy for filtering.
