Question slackware & hight performance computing

Dear all,

I'm thinking about install the Slackware (my favorite distribution) on a Bi Dual-Core Xeon server. The aim is to perform scientific calculation with openmp.

So, I'm wondering whether slackware is compatible with an hight performance computing server.

May I have your opening?

Thanks in advance ...

There are some out there specifically for HPC machines and clusters, but any distro should work. I've only ever used CLFS and Gentoo for HPC clusters, but I see no reason (based on my limited use) that Slackware won't perform.
