Slackware 12.2 Sata DVD problems under installation
Hello
I am installing Slackware 12.2 on my VIA Mini-ITX "server" I can boot from the DVD and use the installation menu, but when i choose to install from the local CD/DVD Slackware is unable to find the drive (Although i just booted from the DVD) I have tried installing from the server at http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/slackware/slackware I can see the 1012 packages and choose which to install, But the install is super quick, 10-15 seconds, although i selected most of the packages except KDE and some Applications i don't need without a GUI When i am asked to specify a root password i get the error: "No such file/directory" (Roughly) And none of the packages is installed. In the whole process i get no errors except the one above. I am using a SATA Harddrive and a SATA DVD Drive Theres no legacy options for SATA in the BIOS and my harddrive is mounted (by Slackware) as dev/hda0 Any ideas what's causing this? /mads |
Try Slackware 13.1 as it should have better hardware support for your machine.
