site so slow !

i have big website with joomla , and with 1.2 giga mysql and it is slow to loading !! although i have another sites on my vps with joomla script and they working so fast but the mysql it is not so big for any one of them !! any way i resized the size of tmp die to 8 giga but still have the same problem may be a little better !!

What type of cpu do you have. What type of hard drives do you have. What is your load average. What process is take the most cpu/disk. for the last two question you can use the command "top"
