I researched and I couldn't find a good answer. Maybe, some knowledge folks here can give me more directions. I am looking for a way for users to logon to MS AD tree and OpenLDAP through a single logon from a client Desktop or laptop using graphical logon management tools such as GDM and others. If we force them to use any terminal program, it is no sale by the management. I hope you can help me. Any suggestions will be very helpful.

Well I once you get the AD users setup and they can login there are ways to pass credentials. I think what you need to search for is "integrating linux into AD domain" it can be done with either PAM modules or by using OpenLDAP, either solution requires Samba. I think the SSO solution only works when integrating with OpenLDAP though. You might also try looking up "Linux AD integration with Open LDAP" and or "Linux AD integration with PAM modules"

Oh and about using Graphical logins, it will not matter if you login with a terminal, GDM, KDM, or XDM, it is all the same. You might want to look at SUSE, I think they have made it a lot easier to integrate in to AD as a client. Although I personally prefer Debian.
