Shared Memory question

I have created an entry in /etc/sysctl of
kernel.shmmax = 307200000

and rebooted

When I run cat /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax it returns 307200000

However when I run ipcs -l it returns
max seg size = 300000

Shouldn't this value be the same or am I missing something?

sysctl -A |grep shmmax -- returns 307200000

Thanks,
Ed

Figured it out - both are reporting the same value, one in bytes and one in kilobytes - 300000 * 1024 = 307200000
