Setup server like rapidshare
 

Hye, may i know why types of server for linux that user can upload@download? such as rapidshare? or even megaupload? I want to know which types of software are they used and how?

Is a server that user can upload or download file ? Is that answering the question?
I know a little about server, so that's why i want to learn more about server..

that really means next to nothing i'm afraid. you can upload and download with all sorts of protocols, ftp, smb, http, and each of those have multiple implementations.

You only need a webserver. And ofcourse some server scripts (php for example) to manage all the files and generating pages for them.

For example in apache you can use this: http://commons.apache.org/fileupload/

I mashed together a prototype in a bout an hour, but that was on an old iis with asp3.0. So with a proper webserver and language its probably even easier.
