Setup outgoing mail to Yahoo smtp using command line
I'm trying to set up my computer to send recorded voice messages from my external voice modem as mp3 to my external email address at Yahoo. This is so that when I do get a voice message at home, it will send it to my email address that I monitor at work. The script I'm using is set up to use Metasend, but I'm not sure if that will work for what I'm trying to do.
I'm thinking of using sendmail for this, but don't have the foggiest idea of how to set it up to send mail through my Yahoo smtp server. It seems that there should be some simple way to do it, but I can't find any help (so far) on the web to set up a simple 'send it to Yahoo smtp with username/password' server. Sendmail may be the wrong way to do it. Perhaps there's just some easy command to put in the script to accomplish the same thing. However, it may be a good idea to learn how to use Sendmail anyways. My assumption would be that Metasend would relay the email to Sendmail. This is all new to me. I guess it's time to learn it.
I plan to do this on either a PPC64 running Gentoo>=2007.0 or PC running Ubuntu 7.10. Most likely it will be the PPC64. It's too slow to do much else.
