I have a server on my LAN with a static ip "192.168.0.105" and it's running Postfix & Apache. The server runs great and is on a dedicated enterprise level server (Poweredge 2950) however I noticed today that I could not connect to the server from my desk. I tried to access email, the IP via a web browser, and even ping from terminal and nothing worked. It was as if the machine was powered off. I checked the server room and the machine was running fine. I logged in via TTY1 and did an ifconfig:
Code:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:xx:xx:xx:xx
inet addr:192.168.0.105 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.0.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1

TX packets:13426 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0

RX bytes:6383082 (6.0 Mb) TX bytes:5454612 (5.2 Mb)
Interrupt:16 Memory:f8000000-f8012800
If I login to the server from TTY1 and then do a ping to google.com or something, it wakes the server up and then all systems are normal for a short period. What is causing something like this?
Nothing in the logs or anything like that...
