How to you send emails? i.e. which client?
Is /etc/mail/access (or whatever the used path is) set properly?

If you don't use a name server, add an entry in /etc/hosts:
Code:
10.200.2.42 dinesh-desktop dinesh-desktop.domain.com

Thanks for ur reply
I solved my problem by making hostsentry as below
Vi /etc/hosts

#127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain dinesh-desktop dinesh-desktop.foobar
192.168.1.4 dinesh-desktop
