I had removed the maillog file from my server due to space insufficency. I have created a maillog file in /var/log/maillog using touch command with same attributes.
#ls -l /var/log/maillog
-rw------- 1 root root 0 Apr 1 20:22 /var/log/maillog
After that the mail server is working fine and mails are moving around. But the logs were not written. Why???
hai , Thank you both for reply. But i am still in trouble.
I restarted sendmail and xinetd , but no gain. Will any one provide me the solution. I need to set it as soon as possible, as we are not getting logs .
