sendmail
 
i am trying to send mail from root to other user using sendmail.
but after trying 5-6 times, i am failed. it is giving the following error with command mailq::

p1SHo941010081 31 Mon Feb 28 23:20 <root@sinde.com>
(Deferred: Connection refused by phx1-ss-2-lb.cnet.com.)

The problem is that cnet.com will not accept your mail and there could be several reasons why. First, if you are running your mail system from an IP that resolves as being residential or dynamic, you will probably not have much success. Second, your IP and or domain name could be black listed for spam. Run a test of your domain at mxtoolbox.com. This will give you a lot of information regarding the status of these two factors. Third, because spam is becoming such a problem, many providers will automatically block you unless you have been pre-whitelisted with them. Fourth, the recipient may require features such as an SPF record or Domain keys.

One thing you an try that will rule out a lot of these issues is to configure sendmail with a "smarthost". For this smarthost use your ISP's smtp server as a relay.
