SendEnv and AcceptEnv in ssh session.

Hi all.

Was wondering the importance of sending environment variables within SSH session.

Client ssh_config
SendEnv LANG LC_CTYPE LC_NUMERIC LC_TIME LC_COLLATE LC_MONETARY LC_MESSAGES
SendEnv LC_PAPER LC_NAME LC_ADDRESS LC_TELEPHONE LC_MEASUREMENT
SendEnv LC_IDENTIFICATION LC_ALL
To SSHDaemon - sshd_config.
AcceptEnv LANG LC_CTYPE LC_NUMERIC LC_TIME LC_COLLATE LC_MONETARY LC_MESSAGES
AcceptEnv LC_PAPER LC_NAME LC_ADDRESS LC_TELEPHONE LC_MEASUREMENT
AcceptEnv LC_IDENTIFICATION LC_ALL

Sorry, but googling dint gave much information about these environment variables and what they actually do and why are they necessary/what if disabled!
Aprreciate if someone can link me to any article having indepth information.
Thanks!
-R.

Check the manpage for locale for the meaning of these variables. They are only important if you use another language setting than English.
