send mail using postfix server using a http_proxy server
 

i have installed a postfix server where it has internet connectivity thru http_proxy. i know having a direct internet connection will work.. but in my case the server is using prxoy to reach internet, i have to use http proxy. Is it possible? if so what is the config required?

Mail is sent using SMTP, while web proxies typically support HTTP, HTTPS and possibly FTP.

As long as the receiving mail server expects data to arrive via SMTP, using a web proxy will not work.
